The Studebakers of Southern Oregon chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club March 2026 business luncheon was held at Bee Gee's Diner on a beautiful, sunny, 75 degree Saturday, March 7th at 1:00PM and hosted by John & Colleen Osolkowski.

The meeting was cowbelled to order by Chapter President John Weinrich at 1:30 with 13 members and 6 Studebakers present, including John W's '48 M-16, Blake's '60 Lark VI 2-door, Ed Polish's '64 GT Hawk, Keith's newly roadworthy '61 Lark VIII 4-door and a special guest.
Peter brought the special guest Studebaker, a 1940 Commander Deluxe-Tone Club Sedan now in the care of Steve Curry of Heritage Motors and offered for sale. If not sold locally (and it would be a FINE addition to our chapter) it will be auctioned in May.
Both Dave and Richard expressed an interest in it and were encouraged to contact Steve.
Acting chapter secretary Peter read the previous meeting minutes to an embarrassing smattering of applause.
Colleen O motioned that the minutes be accepted as read with multiple seconds.
Colleen offered a clarification to the minutes read that a club December meeting was never "cancelled" because there never was one, although this year Miles has offered to host one.
Richard asked about the meeting schedule and John W. mentioned that it was on the SOSO blog as well as submitted to the editors of SDC's monthly magazine for publication in "Turning Wheels".
Next month's meeting (April) will be at Tarasco Restaurant, also in Rogue River and hosted by Ken.
Colleen tendered the treasurer's report with deposits in the account from last month's 50/50 drawing, calendar sales and dues.
Members were reminded to pay their annual $15 dues.
Old business was SOSO SOS, business cards, calendars and T-shirts are still available.
New Business included a reminder to be on the lookout for calendar worthy photo opportunities of member's Studebakers and any other local Studebakers for the 2027 SOSO Calendar.
Other new business was the nomination of candidates for the 2026 custodian of Studebaker Factory Brick trophy. It was decided by a near unanimous vote that The Brick will be passed to Mark, honoring his great interest, attendance and that his 2R5 pickup is now on the road.
Unfortunately, the 50/50 drawing was not held as the drawing master of ceremonies Ken (and the tickets) was not in attendance at this month's meeting.
There were a couple of addendums to this month's meeting as Peter reported on the condition and history of the '40 Commander and John O. reported that he is now the custodian of a '60 4-door Lark and a '61 Lark hardtop parts cars and/or restoration candidates, and he extended an invitation to all to come check them out.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 2:30 with participants eagerly milling around and appreciating the Studebakers in the parking lot, especially the '40 Commander and Keith's beautifully completed restoration of his '61.
