I just made what should be the final edits to a proof of our 2026 calendar.
I should have them for distribution next week.

It makes me wish we were going to have a December meeting!

Happy Holidays!

SOSO Meeting Minutes for November 2025

The November meeting of the Studebakers of Southern Oregon chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club was held at Tarasco Restaurant in Rogue River on November 1st and hosted by John Osolkowski.

The meeting was called to order by president John Weinrich at 1:22 pm with 10 members present, including new member Rick Burns who we enthusiastically welcome to the club.
Rick is working on a '31 Commander resto-mod we all look forward to seeing.

Sometime before the meeting was called to order John Krawczyk offered his 1960 Lark VIII sedan for sale and Richard Snearly bought it!

Acting chapter secretary Peter read the previous meeting's minutes which Colleen motioned should be accepted as read with Richard seconding.

Treasurer Colleen tendered the treasurer's report with last month's 50/50 deposit added which Peter motioned should be accepted as read with Ken seconding.

Colleen also read a thank-you letter from the Studebaker Museum in South Bend for our continued sponsorship of the 1919 Studebaker Big Six in the museum's collection.

Old Business included business cards, a new edition crafted by Miles Chappell, and Studebaker "Red Ball" T-shirts which Peter reported as still available in small, medium, extra-large and 2XL, with the large size currently sold out.

The 2026 SOSO calendar project now moves into the Old Business category. Peter reported that Sol at Studio 10 Ashland printers gave an estimate of $650 to produce 50 calendars. Member attendees voted unanimously to go for it! Peter said he would submit the photos compiled for the calendar and captions for them and work with Sol on calendar design. It was decided that members would be entitled to one free calendar with additional calendars available for $15 each. Since the club does not meet in the month of December calendars will be distributed at the Saturday January 3rd 1pm meeting at the Taprock restaurant in Grants Pass but should be printed and available by the end of November.

One New Business item was discussed, that of the clubs wish to procure a 10'X10' canopy to provide shade at summertime car shows. John K said that he had one that he would donate with John W to be its custodian. Thank you to both John K and John W!

There was some discussion of where 2026 meetings would be held and who would host. A complete 2026 meeting schedule was not decided as some key members like Ed and Keith were absent from the meeting but will be published when they are contacted about when and where they might like to host.

Ken once again officiated the 50/50 drawing with a total of $55 in the '"pot".

Peter's previous pleas to members to bring something each month for the member drawing schwag table found this month's table piled high with some fine items including Studebaker shop manuals and model cars.

With full bellies and some item or another from the schwag table in hand we adjourned in contented collective Studebaker camaraderie at 2:08 pm.

I'm here!

In 1969 I was one of the youngest memebers of SDC at 14. So pleased to still be having fun with Studebaker lovers and their cars!

Folks, I have made the blog open to the public. This will make it easier to update and use.
